William Brooks

William passed away of natural causes on Oct. 20, 2011. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 24, 1921. He spent his childhood in the Pittsburgh area, and married Jean Richter, also of Pittsburgh, in 1942. After serving in the 28th Infantry Division of the US Army, where he saw action in Europe and the Battle of the Bulge, he was honorably discharged in 1945, then relocated to Maryland to raise a family. He was a lithographer for the C.I.A. in the Washington D.C. area and retired in 1976. Bill and Jean moved to Sun City after his retirement to be near family. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge, as well as a lifetime bowler participating in many leagues around the Sun City area. Bill and Jean were married nearly 60 years before her passing in 2001. Bill moved to the El Dorado retirement complex in 2005. He is survived by his two sons, William Jr. of Sun City, and Todd (Nancy) of Lakeside, CA. Also surviving William are 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Private memorial services have been arranged by Menke Funeral & Cremation Center.
