ON APRIL 6TH, 2018 WAYNE PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY SURROUNDED BY HIS FAMILY FOLLOWING ONGOING HEALTH COMPLICATIONS. WAYNE WAS BORN IN PHOENIX AND RAISED IN GLENDALE, WHERE HE RESIDED MOST OF HIS LIFE. HE ATTENDED UNIT 1 GRADE SCHOOL AND GRADUATED FROM GLENDALE HIGH SCHOOL WHERE HE PLAYED FOOTBALL AND WRESTLED. HE WENT ON TO SERVE IN THE US NAVY AND LATER GRADUATED WITH A BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN GEOLOGICAL STUDIES FROM NORTHERN ARIZONA UNIVERSITY IN 1972. THAT SAME YEAR HE MARRIED THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE, JOANNE, AND BEGAN HIS 44 YEAR LONG CAREER AS A GEOLOGIST. HE LOVED HIS WORK, WHICH HE CONTINUED DOING UP UNTIL JUST A FEW YEARS BEFORE PASSING. HE WAS AN AVID OUTDOORSMAN, HUNTER AND FISHERMAN, LOVING HIS TIME HUNTING AND CAMPING THROUGHOUT NORTHERN ARIZONA. LATER IN LIFE HE ENJOYED HIS TIME AT HIS ROCKY POINT FAMILY CABIN OCEAN FISHING AND SPENDING TIME WITH HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY. WAYNE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS MOTHER HELEN. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE JOANNE, FATHER WAYNE, TWIN BROTHER BOB (PEGGY), BROTHER STEVE (CANDY), SON TRAVIS, DAUGHTER RYAN (JAMES), GRANDCHILDREN MATTHEW, TOBY, SHANNA, AND CAMERON ALONG WITH SEVERAL NIECES, NEPHEWS, AND OTHER EXTENDED FAMILY. WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES WAYNE HAS LEFT US WITH. HE WILL CONTINUE TO INSPIRE ALL THOSE HE LOVED AND THOSE WHO LOVED HIM. HE WILL BE DEARLY MISSED FOREVER. WAYNE’S WISHES WERE FOR A CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE WHICH WILL BE HELD IN THE NEAR FUTURE AND THOSE DETAILS ARE CURRENTLY BEING FINALIZED.
