Warren (Bob) Hardy

December 31, 1969 — May 5, 2014

Bob Hardy, 98, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2014, in Sun City AZ where he had resided for several decades. A leap year child, he was born in Waterloo, IA, on February 29, 1916. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Maxine Hardy, and his brother, Rodney Hardy. He is survived by his daughter, Karen H. Bell of Ft.Thomas, KY. During the war years he was stationed at the U.S. Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, IL. An employee of the Rath Packing Company nearly 50 years, Bob lived, worked and visited in 49 of the 50 states. Besides travel, he enjoyed cooking, bird carving, reading, playing golf, his wide circle of friends and neighbors, and volunteering for Banner Health where he accrued more than 6,200 hours. He was a long-time participant in the ASU-Sun Health Center for Health Aging Longevity Project. Donations may be made to Sunshine Services or Hospice of Arizona.
