[caption id="attachment_7331" align="alignright" width="225"] Walt & Jasper[/caption]Walter Wayne West was born in Kramer, Nebraska, in 1941, to Albert and Ethelyn West. He passed from this life into eternal life on November 4th, 2016, in Phoenix, Arizona. Walt was 75 years old. Walt married the love of his life, Donna R. Simecek in Phoenix, Arizona on March 14th, 1967. He was a retired Army Major & a retired Phoenix Police Sergeant. Walt’s favorite teams were the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Arizona Cardinals. He loved hiking, golf & archery. He also loved animals, especially his dogs. In early 2000, Walt was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Albert Jr., Ron & his sister Gretta. Walt is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Lynnea Marshall and grandchildren Tara & husband Clifford Guss, Joseph Halley III & wife Missy all of Phoenix, Arizona. Daughter Kelly K. and husband Allan Myers & granddaughter Holly K. Myers of Phoenix, Arizona. Great Grandchildren include: Clifford Jr., Kaley, Blayne, Mia & Jaydis. Siblings include: brother Don West of Firth, Nebraska, Ivan & wife Sharon West of Phoenix, Arizona and sister Darlene & husband Herman Soderstrom of Lincoln, Nebraska. Special thanks to all of the Caregivers, Hospice, Nurses, Doctors & Chaplains. We would also like to thank the Menke Funeral & Cremation Center & Mountain Ridge Church families & Pastors for all of their help during this difficult time along with all of the family & friends of the West family. They couldn’t have done it without you. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 12th at 10:00 am & A Celebration of Life at 11:00am at Mountain Ridge Baptist Church at 23104 N. 67th Ave. Glendale, AZ 85310. Reception to follow at 5510 W. Arrowhead Lakes Dr. Glendale, AZ 85308. Burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85024.
