Vern Gren

Vern Gren, 82, of Sun City passed away July 2, 2013. Vern was born in Minneapolis, MN and was a U.S. Army veteran. A retired floral designer, he moved to Arizona 1994 and enjoyed attending and supporting “Theater Works” in Peoria, AZ with his long time friend Father Maynard C. Kegler. Vern and Maynard were world travelers, having traveled from Alaska to the South Pole. Survivors include his nieces Dawn Christenson and Jody Thaxton and many close friends in the Sun City area. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. He will be laid to rest at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Buffalo, MN. Gifts of flowers or memorial donations to Hospice of the Valley would be greatly appreciated.
