Valerie Wallace

Valerie C. Wallace, 84, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2008 surrounded by her family. Valerie was born on a farm on September 5, 1923 in Fillmore County, Minnesota to Thomas and Olga Ask. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe S. Wallace of 55 years and her brother Stanley Ask. She is survived by her three children, Kristie Hotchkiss of Austin, Texas, Ron Wallace of Costa Mesa, California, Dale Wallace of Denver, Colorado, her brother Maynard Ask of Fountain, Minnesota and her sister, Delores Cornell of Georgetown, Texas. Valerie has three beautiful grandchildren, Amanda Pendroza, Kelsey Hotchkiss, and Cody Wallace. Valerie was a loving, devoted wife and mother who raised her family in Denver, CO. Her love of family and friends were the most important thing in her life. She worked at Samsonite Luggage until her retirement when she and her husband moved to Sun City, Arizona in 1988. Her years of retirement were filled with multiple activities including, weaving, square dancing, serving as an active member in the American Lutheran Church and volunteering at the West Side Lutheran Thrift Store In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Lutheran Church, Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Arizona 85014, or American Cancer Society.
