Timothy D." McCoy

December 31, 1969 — November 10, 2015

Timothy “Chili D.” McCoy, beloved son, brother, partner, and friend left us to join the Lord on November 9, 2015 at 2am surrounded by his family. A service of celebration will be held at the Menke Funeral & Cremation Center 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351 on Wednesday, November 11th at 2pm. All are welcome to join the family in celebrating Tim’s life. A reception and Jam will follow the service. A Michigan service of celebration will be held at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, 30895 W. Huron River Dr., Flat Rock, MI 48134 on Sunday, November 15. The visitation will be at 3pm, service will start at 4pm, and burial will follow. Tim is the second child of Brenda and Raymond McCoy (deceased) and step–son of Barry Adler. He is survived by his brothers, Raymond and Sean and his beloved life partner, Jill Tesman. Tim was born and raised in the Down River area of Detroit, Michigan. He attended middle school and high school in Alma, Michigan. He attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo studying engineering and Spanish. Music has been his passion since he got his brother Raymond’s castoff guitar at the age three. He never stopped playing and eventually added mandolin, piano, fiddle, and bass. He always was part of at least one band and more recently became a mentor and “Uncle Cool” to the Jam Pak Blues ‘N’ Grass Neighborhood Band. He has been mistaken as Tim McGraw on several occasions. He loved birds, bridges, and even banjos. He loved football and friends. He loved cars, cats, and kids. He hated stupid mistakes on signs, but loved funny and cosmic signs. He loved art, food, and music. He thought form should follow function. He taught old dogs new tricks and new dogs old tricks. He loved to be sentimental and sweet. He loved curiosity and crazy cruises. He loved playing practical jokes especially on his mom. Most importantly, he loved. He left the world a better place. We will all meet you, Tim, in Heaven at the Eastern Gate; until then you will be forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Jam Pak, Attn: Anni Beach, 603 Carla Vista Dr., Chandler, AZ 85225.
