Thomas (“Tom”) Richard Turner, Jr. passed away on March 4, 2014 at the age of 72 after a five month battle with lung cancer. He was born on September 3, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Arizona when he was just five years old. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1959 and then served in the US Air Force before marrying his wife of 49 years, Bea Turner. He worked as a line locator at Southwest Gas for 20 years. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, golfing and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Tom is survived by his wife Bea, daughters Marci Heath (Matt) and Cari Bauer (Craig), grandchildren Cassie Miller (Matt), Carli Bauer, Codi Bauer, Austin Heath, and Emily Heath and sisters Judy Yonts, Janette Hickman, and Diane Akins. He has been reunited with his mother and father Thomas Richard and Beulah Nel Turner and two brothers Elton Tuner and Jim Turner who preceded him in death. He was a quiet, strong man with a huge heart who will be missed immensely. We will celebrate his life on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First Southern Baptist Church at Saguaro Ranch, 10250 N. 59th Avenue. 85302.
