Thomas L. “Tom” Morgan passed away on March 22, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer.
Tom was born on February 3, 1943 in Freeport, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Freeport before joining the United States Air Force after graduating from Freeport High School in 1961. He served 20 years on Active Duty as an Air Policeman, a Military Training Instructor, a Personnel Specialist and an Air Force Recruiter finally retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1981 after serving as a First Sergeant at Luke Air Force Base. Through his military service he had the opportunity to see a good portion of the U.S. and the world ranging from bases in Texas, Florida, Ohio, Missouri, and Arizona to locations in Europe and the Middle East.
After retiring from the Air Force, Tom continued his passion for people and cars. As a salesman for the Larry Miller automotive group he excelled as one of their top 10 salesmen nationwide for three consecutive years. As the Director of Admissions for the Cortiva Institute for Massage Therapy he worked tirelessly to make the school one of the best in the nation. He loved Phoenix and made his home there for nearly 40 years.
Tom was a quintessential man of his era. An avid and lifelong sports, cars, and western movie fan. He was especially fond of football (which he lettered in during High School) and baseball and any western movie with Randolph Scott in it.
His unfailing willingness to help people, his compassion, and never quit attitude will be sorely missed by his family, friends and the people whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 30 years Isabel G. Morgan, his son Grey and daughter-in-law Anna (Williamsburg, Va.) and daughter Wendy (Hillsboro, Ore.) from his first marriage, grandchildren Kyle (Charlottesville, Va.), Danielle, and Liam (Williamsburg, Va.) and a large and loving extended family of stepchildren; Fran (Seattle, Wa.), JR and David (Phoenix, Az.), and Steve (Warrenton, Va) and many grand stepchildren. He is also survived by his brother Terry Morgan of Robisonia, Pa. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary and sisters Mary Kay and Theetta.
A Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sun City on July 12th at 2 p.m
