Thomas Bruce

Thomas A. Bruce, 83, of Sun City, Arizona, passed peacefully at home with loved ones by his side. Tom is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carla, their three children: Ray (Cheryl) Bruce, Judy (Sam) Gregory, and Amy (Stoney) Parks, eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a brother Ralph Bruce and a sister Irene Thackrey. Tom was born June 27, 1935 near Norris City, Illinois. He grew up and graduated high school in McLeansboro, Illinois. Tom married his high school sweetheart, Carla Prather, in 1954 and moved his family to Phoenix in 1960 where he completed Barber College. He owned and operated a barber shop in Sun City for 40 years. After retirement, he and Carla enjoyed traveling throughout the West and spending time in the Arizona mountains that he loved. Donations in Tom's memory may be made to Banner Hospice of Gilbert, Arizona. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center Chapel, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ.
