Theresa Ann Brandt, age 76, passed away while surrounded by family on October 28, 2017 at Del Webb Hospital in Surprise, Ariz. Theresa was born on August 21, 1941 in Bottineau, N.D., to Roy and Margaret Carlson. She graduated from Upham High School in Upham, N.D., in 1959. Shortly after, she married the love of her life Larry Brandt on September 4, 1959. Theresa and Larry resided in Rugby, N.D., and Albert Lea, Minn., before retiring to Surprise, Ariz., in 2011. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Theresa was happiest in the kitchen creating delicious meals and treats for family and friends. She was known as the “hostess with the mostest” and welcomed all with her radiant smile. Some of her fondest memories were made at the Brandt family cabin at Long Lake, N.D. She enjoyed many tropical vacations with her husband, always returning with a suitcase full of gifts for everyone. Theresa’s legacy is one of putting others first, going the extra mile for a friend, abundant laughter and endless compassion. Her loving family includes: husband Larry, son Todd (Christy) Brandt of Omaha, Neb., daughter Tracey (Bill) Hiser of Laramie, Wyo., grandchildren Rhyan, Miranda, Shea (Pat), Zane, Kellen (Breanne), Karsten (Shelby), Kyleigh (Bryce), great-grandchildren Nathanael and Jacob, first great-granddaughter expected to arrive in January, 2018, and brothers Ted (Jean) and Bill (Carol). She is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Margaret Carlson. A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held at the Sun Village Community Center in Surprise, Ariz., on Feb. 3, 2018 at 2 p.m. Another celebration will be held at the Metigoshe Christian Center Chapel at Lake Metigoshe, N.D., on June 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations to a charity of your choosing in her honor.
