In 1975, after their children moved out of the house, they felt moved to sponsor a Vietnamese lady and her family of eight. This was a wonderful experience and blessing for Sib and Harold. The love they gave, returned to them tenfold. They were still very close to their Vietnamese extended family up until the day of their passing.
Harold and Sib were very social and became very involved in any endeavor they did. They enjoyed living an active life getting together with family, church members and friends for meals, cards and adventures as well as many wonderful vacations, camping, cruising, snow skiing including starting a National Ski Patrol Volunteer team at ‘Ski Idlewild’ in Colorado.
In 1987, after retirement, they purchased a summer cabin by Schaffer’s Crossing on Elk Creek Road in Colorado. Sib loved her time at the cabin, especially when the kids would come to visit. In 1990, they moved full time to Sun City, Arizona and started the West Valley Christian Fellowship church as charter members with other friends. She was the secretary of this church for the next 20 years.
