Shirley Zandron

Shirley Evelyn Zandron, 89, of Sun City, Arizona, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 1, 2015. She was born in Denver, Colorado, on July 25, 1925 to George and Evelyn Merrill and later adopted by Joseph Hillen. Shirley was an amazing wife for 61 years to Jim (deceased); proud mother of 5 daughters - Kathleen R. Gallion (Bob), Sandra E. Sadowski (Ed-deceased), Gena R. Melang (Randy), Jami L. Uema (George), and Kim E. Schank (Craig); grandmother of 12 - Meg Gallion Ball (James), Sarah Sadowski Grooms (Sam), Angie Sadowski Panagiotopoulos (George), Becca Sadowski Voeltner (Andy), Matthew Sadowski, Christine Melang, Courtney Melang Losey (David), Beth Uema Moore (Craig), Josh Uema, Allie Schank Garcia (Tom), Rachelle Schank, and Jim Schank; great-grandmother of 13 - Joey and Emily Grooms, Teddy and Baby Panagiotopoulos, Max, Cal, Evelyn and Lewis Voeltner, Addy Melang Flynn, Ava, Brody, Kendall and Kaia Moore; and stepsister to Mary Ann Knoedler, Jean Pinnow and Jack Hillen (deceased); and many extended family and friends. She embodied the Scripture Ecc. 9:10a, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all of your might." She enjoyed floral design, sewing, baking, ceramics and had the gift of hospitality. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015, 11 a.m. at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Avenue, Sun City, Arizona. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Good Shepherd Retirement Community or the American Heart Association.
