Sally Barton (Davis) Adams

Sally Barton (Davis) Adams, 76, of Worthington, OH, died in Glendale, AZ on Sunday, April 6, 2025. 

She was born in Columbus, OH on August 10, 1948 to Russell B. and R. Carolyn (Barton) Davis. Sally and her sister, Ellen Virginia Davis, were raised in Worthington, OH, surrounded by friends and family. 

After high school, Sally studied Early Childhood Education at Ohio University in Athens, OH where she earned a bachelor’s degree. It was in Athens where she met the love of her life, Timothy Rob Adams. For Tim, it was love at first sight and, with the help of his Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity brothers, he found a way to “accidentally” bump into her. His humor and charm won the day and they married on April 3, 1971 in Worthington, OH. 

Sally was a dedicated kindergarten teacher for more than 30 years. She spent countless hours creating bulletin boards and activities to enrich the minds of the children who were entrusted to her and would frequently leverage her skillful piano playing in the classroom. True to form, she poured her heart into her three children, her husband of 54 years, and her four grandchildren.

Sally was preceded in death by her father, Russell, her mother, Carolyn and her son, Terrence Russell Adams. She is survived by her sister, Ellen, her husband Tim, her son, Timothy Marshall Adams and her daughter, Katherine Ellen Adams. She leaves behind several beloved grandchildren: Anabel Schwam Adams (2007), Grant Nathaniel Karns (2008), Addison Mae Harris (2015) and step grandson, Jensen Alexander Harris (2005). 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Menke Funeral and Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351. Donations to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
