Ruth Thompson, Becker, Keehn

Ruth F. Keehn was born August 26, 1918 in Inver Grove, Minnesota to John and Christine Elizabeth Schindeldecker Thompson. Ruth was the second born of four children including, Henry, Leonard and Delmar Thompson. All the above preceded her in death. Ruth was baptized at Old Emanuel Lutheran Church and confirmed at Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Paul, Minnesota. Ruth lived in different areas in Minnesota and attended both parochial and public schools; and later in life attended business school. Ruth married Ignatius D. Becker, November 5, 1938 at Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Paul, Minnesota. They had two sons, Roger I. and Allen D. Becker. Ignatius preceded Ruth in death March 17, 1953. Ruth then attended business school and was employed at Paper Calmenson Steel, where she met Robert L. Keehn. They were married, August 29, 1961. They both retired from Paper Calmenson Steel, May 1980. Ruth and Robert came to Sun City, Arizona in 1981 on vacation as snow birds and in 1991 they became permanent residents. Robert preceded Ruth in death July 21, 1994 both were members of Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church, Sun City, Arizona. Ruth is survived by her sons, Roger I. (Betty) Becker and Allen D. (Patty) Becker. Four grandchildren, Debby Ruth (Kent) Stone, Roger A. Becker, Christina M. (Michael) Garden and Patrick A. (Shannon) Becker; four great granddaughters, Elizabeth, Natalie, Holly Ruth Stone and Isabel Becker. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 09, 2011 at Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church, 11025 N. 111th Avenue, Sun City, AZ 85351-4020. Visitation is at 10:30 AM and the service is at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers a memorial gift is preferred to Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church. 623-933-1359.
