Ruth Bartelt

Ruth M. Bartelt went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2011 in Peoria, Arizona, at the age of 83. She was born on August 25 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Alvin and Liol Behling. She will be remembered for her quiet and gentle spirit, full of grace and beauty. She is cherished by her daughter Nancy Herold of Arizona, a loving grandmother to Katie (Cyrus) Guevarra of Arizona, Christie (Kyle) Selinsky of Colorado, and Lindsey Herold of Arizona. She is a special great-grandmother of Jaxson and Jordyn Guevarra, dear sister-in-law to Eugene Bartelt of Illinois, and a treasured relative and friend. She is reunited in heaven with her husband Merlyn Bartelt (1956), her daughter Peggy Ybarra (2008), and her son-in-law Jay Herold (2010). Ruth ran her husband’s metallurgy business for 24 years in Wisconsin before moving to Arizona in 1990. She worked as a church secretary and then a special needs school aide prior to her stroke in 2005. A memorial service will be held at her church Apostles Lutheran Church, 7020 W. Cactus Rd., Peoria, AZ 85381, on December 13, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will proceed the service. Donations may be sent to the Apostles Lutheran Church.
