Russell H. Jeschke, 88, of Sun City, AZ passed away on June 5, 2016. He was born on September 9, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He entered and served in WW2 and was stationed overseas. He was the son of John and Mary Jeschke. He later married the love of his life Clare (Schaumann) Jeschke. Together they owned and operated a custard shop and a Mobil service station in the Milwaukee area. After vacationing in the northwoods, they decided to move their family to Rhinelander and opened their first NAPA store. They also helped manage Pleasure Point Resort on Crescent Lake, along with her sister. They then moved to Minocqua to open a NAPA store with their sons John and James Jeschke. He was known as the “worker” to many of his friends. He served many years with the Minocqua Lions Club, serving his community. In 1995, he and his wife retired to Sun City, AZ where he enjoyed bowling and golfing. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Clare (Schaumann) Jeschke, his sons, John (Joyce) Jeschke and James (Jo Jean) Jeschke, and daughters Judi (Steve) Hunter, Kathy (Christopher) Pietsch, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tues., June 28, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona located at 23029 N Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ. A Celebration of his life will be held in Minocqua at a later date.
