Roberta Jean Neisius (Chilcote) was born in Palo Alto California on June 4, 1933 and left this world in Peoria Arizona on June 24, 2015 to be with her Father in Heaven after a full life. Her family was the most important part of her life and her family honored her by tenderly caring for her until the last moment before her home going. She leaves behind 6 children, 20 grandchildren, a tribe of great grandchildren too numerous to count and a wealth of wonderful memories. Her gentle and quiet spirit was her hallmark but she could be a fierce competitor when it came to scrabble and pinochle. With an active mind she appreciated literature, challenging puzzles and good riddle. She had a sense of humor, liked a “corny” joke and everyone enjoyed hearing her laugh which she did often. She was a thoughtful and caring person, willing to quietly help those with needs and was graceful in receiving help in her later years. As a professional judicial administrator she excelled at meeting the challenges and acquired numerous commendations and awards for exemplary service in both civilian and military work. After she retired from civil service she moved to Duncanville Texas and served the community in a variety of ways while being a long standing member of the First United Methodist Church where she served for a period as Treasurer for her Sunday School Class. Health issues did not allow her to continue attending but she continued to support her “second family” and they were faithful to support her spiritually to the end for which she was grateful. She spent her last days in the presence of family and caregivers and passed quietly into the presence of Christ without fear or complaint. Her gentle and quiet ways will be missed by all. A small memorial service for Jean is to be held at 11:00am, Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, Sun City, AZ.
