Robert Walters

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away at Banner-Boswell Hospital on Oct. 30, 2014. He was 91. Bob, a WW II veteran served under Patton and fought in The Battle of the Bulge. He married Betty Schomaker in 1948 and worked as an executive for ConTel Corp. in Minnesota for 30 yrs. Betty preceded Bob in death in March 1993. Robert was an active member in the Sun City community. He was the President of the Optimist Club, the Tennessee Club and served for 10 yrs. as Chairman of the Board for the Bos/Web Condo Assoc. As a 30 yr volunteer at Boswell Hospital, Bob was often the first to greet patients and visitors upon their arrival. He was also a long time member of the Shepard of the Desert Lutheran Church in Sun City. Robert is survived by his wife of 20 yrs, Barbara. Daughters Gail Starck and spouse Charles, Deborah Jennings, Son-in-law Mike Jennings and spouse Trish, Granddaughters Shannon Lopez and spouse Geo, Michelle Augustine, Grandsons Rob Jennings and spouse Hillery, Todd Jennings and spouse Shelly, Great Grandchildren Tatum and Maguire Jennings. Stepdaughter Leslie Jordan. A private ceremony for the family will be at a later date.
