Robert Dale Stork February 2, 1942 - August 4, 2008 Bob leaves behind his wife Judy, his son Brian, his daughters Lori and Sarah, his grandchildren Jack, Marin and Lillian. He leaves Judy's children, Andrew, Seth, Brian and Danielle and the 14 grandchildren, whom he loved as his own. He leaves older siblings Mabel, Esther and Vern. Bob felt blessed to have witnessed his children become accomplished professionals, happily married adults and great parents. He greatly loved all the grandchildren. His took pleasure in feeding the family his famous barbeque dinners for all occasions. There was always a new recipe to try. Bob lived hard and died the same way. He was the fifth child of poor tenant farmers, but learned much from his father John. He constantly had a "John Stork" quote to stop any self pity or deemed laziness. His parent's work ethic stayed with him onto death. Bob loved racing. He was a national champion Kart racer, and regretted never having the opportunity to go "big time". A highlight experience was the Cory Kruseman's Sprint Car Driving School. The smile on his face in his cherished photo behind the wheel of a sprint car says it all. This year he finally took his dream vacation to the Indianapolis 500. Bob took pride in treating all people honestly and with respect. His personal reputation was key to him in personal and professional life. Bob farmed in Iowa. He owned a car dealership; he worked at AAA in Iowa and Arizona. He helped establish the AAA Approved Auto Repair Program. In recent years Bob served as an Expert Witness in "lemon law" litigation. He loved helping the little guy fight the auto giants. Bob brought his wife joy unending at a time she had given up on love. They suffered much to be together and had no regrets. They cherished their time together knowing it might be all too short. He gave her the best of all he had to give. The years of hard economic times, personal disappointments and the struggle with heart disease are now over. We know he is in the arms of the Lord. He will be greatly missed by those left behind until we meet again. Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 11:00 am at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ, with a visitation on Friday, August 8, 2008 from 5-7 pm at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center.
