Robert Kirkpatrick

Robert Vernon Kirkpatrick, born Sept. 22, 1935 in Chetopa, KS, and raised by Dean and Pearl Pleasant (Peters) Kirkpatrick. He married Patricia Ruth Paddock in 1955. He was an Arizona State alumnus, and active member of the Methodist Church. A veteran of the Marine Corps., Bob was a member of the USMC Band. He was a music teacher and band director at Safford H.S., Thatcher H.S., Kit Carson Jr. High and with the Washington Elementary Dist., retired in 1996. He was both a choir member and director and performed with Salt River Brass, the Glendale Summer Band and the GCC community band. He was also scoutmaster of his local Boy Scout Troop. Robert is survived by brother, Thomas; sister, Kathy; children Kim, Kevin and Kelly; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Saturday, 3/10/12 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N 103rd Ave, Graveside service to follow 11:30 a.m. at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave. Memorial and reception 11:30 a.m., Sunday, 3-11-12 at Faith United Methodist 8640 N. 19th Ave., Phoenix, AZ.
