Robert Lewis Hodgden, 83, passed away April 16, 2014 in Peoria, AZ. He was born Jan. 1, 1931 in Appleton, WI to Louis & Leona Hodgden. He married Valerie Schmoldt Jan. 1, 1952, in Fremont, WI. Robert served in the US Army during the Korean War. A plumber, he was a member of the Plumber & Pipefitters Local #458 in Wisconsin. An Arizona resident since 1980, he was a member of Apostles Lutheran Church in Peoria, AZ. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Valerie; children, Kathy (Richard) Bleier, Ken (Mary) Hodgden, Russ (Lynn) Hodgden and Rhonda (Tom) Brown. Grandchildren Heather Bleier, Heidi (Jared) Dahlberg, Holly (Roger) Tice, Kaitlin & Lisa Hodgden, Ericka (Ryan) Brockhaus, Joshua Fronczak, Heather (Philip) Robarge and Jeff Hughes; great-grandchildren Alex, Kaitlyn, Tyson, Laura (Ryan) Drevlow and great-great granddaughters Gracelynn and Joy. Robert was preceded in death by his son Thomas; sisters Betty (Lem) Olson and Audrey (Jerry) Fraedrich. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Apostles Lutheran Church, 7020 W. Cactus Rd., Peoria, AZ 85381. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
