Robert E. Fiebig, 83, of Litchfield Park, AZ, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2009 in Goodyear, AZ. He was born on August 9, 1925 in Lansing, MI, to the late Henry and Rose Fiebig. Robert retired from the United States Air Force in 1975 as a Lieutenant Colonel, having completed a 30-year military career including service during WWII, the Korean War and Viet Nam. As demonstrated by his fine and modest character, strong sense of integrity and loyalty, and gracious generosity, Robert was the personification of a true and courageous "Officer and a Gentleman." He will be sorely missed by his family and numerous friends. Robert is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Rosemary; son, Thomas Robert, of Redondo Beach, CA; daughter, Patricia Ann, of San Francisco, CA; and 3 grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Margaret Sullivan of Lansing, MI; and Mary Lou Judson of Pasadena, CA. A brother, Henry, preceded him in death. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2009 at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, 13720 W. Thomas Rd., Avondale. Luncheon reception will be served immediately following Mass in St. Clare's Hall. Interment, with full military honors, will be at 2:00 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014; St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish, 13720 W.
