Robert Charles Egert-Budik left this world and his family on Friday, January 21, 2011. He battled lung and brain cancer and died a sweet peaceful death with his wife and family surrounding him. He was born on May 1, 1928 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. He was a man of his word and a man of honor who loved his family and his country and lived his life dedicated to supporting and helping family, friends and country. He served in the National Guard for 32 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He worked in the Postal Services and retired as the Manager of Distribution at eh Chicago Region. After retirement he and his wife started a successful real estate business. After about ten years it was shut down and they wrote and published several books. After the final retirement he settled down in Sun City and traveled the world. Now he is at peace and went to heaven to join his family and watch over us and love us in a new way. He is survived by his wife, Heide Egert-Budik, his four children, Thomas Budik, Mary Coons-Miller, Jeanne Purol, Judy Renschler, thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
