88, of Phoenix, Arizona passed peacefully on June 11, 2015 at home with his family and friends by his side. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and was a World War II veteran who later worked as a Project Manager for thirty years at the U.S. Army Tank – Automotive Command. Bob and wife Thelma retired to Arizona where they enjoyed playing golf at the Bellair Estates golf course and where Bob recorded 10 hole in ones. In addition to playing golf, Bob enjoyed going to D’back games, betting on the ponies at Turf Paradise, and spending time with his family and dogs. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Thelma in 2009. He is survived by his daughters Diana Garbarino (David Manley), and Joanne Thompson (Steve), grandchildren Amy Thompson, and Bobby Thompson, sister Betty Cummings, and brother Art Garbarino. His life will be celebrated on Friday, June 19th, 9:30 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
