Richard Edward Stec Born in September 4, 1936 Died in September 30, 2017 Richard went to be with the Lord on his way to Mexico. He was traveling with his wife, Elle, of 43 years to get some new glasses. He breathed his last on the side of the highway in Gila Bend, Arizona. Richard and Elle met and married in Michigan City, Indiana, in the Spring of 1974. Rich was working at Bethlehem Steel Corporation until he retired in February of 1999. After retirement, they moved to Sun City, Arizona. Richard was a veteran of the Army. He was inducted in September 10, 1959 and was honorably discharged in August 31, 1965. Richard enjoyed bowling with his friends at the Senior Center Lanes and volunteering at the baseball park during spring training season. Richard loved his church. He faithfully attended and sacrificially served the people, especially the little children. Richard loved his bride. He selflessly cared for her till his last day. They enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing. They loved young families and would often have them over their home for dinner. Richard is survived by his wife Eleanor Stec, sister Carol Dombrowski, brother Don Stec, Step Sons John and Paul Strutz; Grand Children Elizabeth Peal, Jason and Brandon Strutz; Great-Grand Children Jocelyn and Nicole Peal. Memorial services were held October 6, 2017 at the Northwest Community Church. He was laid to rest in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona.
