Raymond Zajic, 90, of Peoria, AZ, passed away at his home on January 28, 2017. He was born in Newton, KS in 1926 to Frank and Laura Zajic. He served in the Marines during WWII with honorable discharge. Ray was a graduate of Finlay Engineering College of Kansas City, MO in 1950. He worked on engineering projects with General Motors, Lockheed, Douglas Aircraft and various Federal Civil Service agencies. He retired from Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS in 1992. Ray was a member of the Second Marine Division Association, VFW Sun City West post 10695 and NARFE Valley West Chapter 1395. He is survived by his devoted sister, Frances Alkire of Peoria, AZ; his other loving sister, Anna Mae Zajic died in 1999. He is also survived by three children: Karen Carrasquillo of Ft. Myers, FL, Paulette Lee of Carlsbad, CA; and Glenn Zajic of Fallbrook, CA. He also has four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by a dear sister-in-law Pencie Pope of Gautier, MS. He will be privately laid to rest next to his wife Gloria Beatrice Zajic at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, MS.
