Raymond Kluth

October 21, 1942 — January 4, 2021

In loving memory of RAYMOND G KLUTH October 21, 1942 - January 4, 2021 Ray grew up in Chicago with his parents Lena Kluth and Harold Kluth (both deceased) and 2 siblings Donald Kluth (deceased) and sister Ann Nevrly. He graduated from Calumet High School in 1961, then served in the US Army '63-'65 overseas in France. Ray got his accounting degree from DePaul University and settled in Chicago as a Revenue Agent for the IRS for 38 years. He married Mary Jo Petrone and raised 2 children, Michelle Shufelt and Kristopher Petrone. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Evy, Savannah, and Tyler. Ray remarried in 1999 and when he retired in 2008, he and his second wife, Susan Jo Kluth, started enjoying their retirement winters in Arizona. There they both experienced country dancing, kayaking and boating on their beautiful Dawn Lake, socializing, church activities and lots more sunshine than in Illinois. In 2020, they sold their IL home and became permanent AZ residents since Ray's many health conditions made it difficult for keeping up two homes. And even after months of working to get on Mayo's active kidney transplant list and being blessed with a live kidney donor, Ray went into the hospital with positive Covid 19 at the end of December and passed away 6 days later. He had a beautiful life, always kind and friendly and we all know he is smiling on us every day through AZ's SUNRAYS.
