Ralph A. Malin, Sr., 94, passed away peacefully away on January 31, 2015. He was born on March 27, 1920 in Wilmington, Delaware. As an orphan, he lived in a children’s home and several foster homes where he worked as a laborer until he graduated from Delaware City High School in 1939. Upon graduation from high school, Ralph began what was to become a twenty-one year career in the US Air Force. After retirement from the Air Force, he started a second 20 year career as a jet aircraft mechanic with Pan American World Airways in New York City. During his tenure with Pan Am, he was involved in the transition from propeller engine planes to jet powered aircraft. He continued to live on Long Island, New York and was a winter resident in Phoenix until moving here permanently in 1982. He moved to Sun City in 1985 where he lived in houses on Camden Ave. and West Oak Ridge Drive until moving to Royal Oaks in 2012 with his now late wife, Toni. His interests included gardening, various crafts, billiards and computers. Ralph was the oldest child of a family of two boys and one girl. He is survived by his four grown children, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The Family wants to thank his extended family at Royal Oaks and Professional Community Services for their devotion and loving care that they provided for him. There will be a memorial service for Ralph at the Royal Oaks Chapel at 3 pm on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
