72, of Sun City, AZ, went to Heaven on Thursday, August 2, 2012. He was due to be released on this day from Del Webb Hospital, Sun City West, AZ, after having undergone prostate cancer surgery on Monday. The family takes comfort knowing he died peacefully on a special day for anyone of Icelandic heritage. Percy was born October 30, 1939, in Langdon, North Dakota. He was the oldest son of Percy Earl & Sigrun Valentine (Hillman) Morrison. He graduated from Cavalier High School, Cavalier, North Dakota, in 1957. He graduated with a BS Degree in 1961 from Mayville State University, Mayville, North Dakota, and with a Master’s Degree in 1966 from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, North Dakota. He married Judith Ann Husband on August 17, 1962, at the Cavalier Methodist Church in Cavalier, ND. He held various teaching and coaching positions from 1961 to 1972 at Lakota High School, Lakota, ND; Crookston High School, Crookston, MN; Mayville State University, University of North Dakota, and Lakewood Community College in White Bear Lake, MN. He was Director of Group Sales for the Minnesota Fighting Saints Hockey Association from 1972-76. He was employed at Frederick-Willys, Farmington, MN, from 1976-78. He worked in promotions for the 1980 U.S. Olympic Ice Hockey Team. He was a manufacture representative for various furniture companies for over 30 years traveling North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather. He made family commitments a top priority. He is a member of the American Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, sports, and worked as a starter at various Sun City golf courses. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Judith, two children: Scott (Amy) Morrison of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Sue Morrison-Peippo (Mark) of Pottsboro, TX; six grandchildren, Andrew and Natalie Peippo; Carter, Delainey, Tatum, and McQuaid Morrison; sister Marie (Clay) Dunlap of Winnett, MT, brother Dr. Robert R. Morrison of Dent, MN, nine nephews, two nieces, Uncle Stanley (Arlene) Morrison of Geneva, IL, Aunt Kelly Dunn of La Jolla, CA, Aunt Emily Morrison of Cavalier, ND, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, T. W. and Gudrun (Bernhoft) Husband, sisters-in-law Bonnie Askew and Wilma Burley, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at American Lutheran Church, Sun City on Wednesday, August 8th, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Chuck Paulson officiating. Interment will be in the Columbarium at American Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to American Lutheran Church, 17200. N.
