Peggy (Millage) Oakey

Peggy Jolene (Millage) Oakey, age 63, was called home to our Lord and died peacefully on September 29, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at Hospice of the Valley in Glendale, AZ. She was born October 5, 1953 in Champaign, IL to Verlin (“Bud”) and Alma Millage. She is survived by her loving husband James, sisters Marcia (William) Thornton, Beverly (David) Ford, and Kelli (Wade) Armentrout, twelve nephews and nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Peggy will be remembered as an avid singer who sang with the international award-winning Scottsdale Chorus (Sweet Adelines). Beside her husband and family, her greatest joy was singing with her quartet, Twilight Express. She enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, snow-skiing and being a “mother” to several cats throughout her life. Cremation services were conducted by Menke Funeral Home in Sun City, AZ. A Celebration of Life service was held on Peggy’s birthday, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Reunion Community Church at 8153 W. Cactus Rd, Peoria, AZ 85345.
