Patrick B. Goodell March 17, 1943 – June 9, 2017 Patrick passed away suddenly on June 9th, 2017 in Sun City, Arizona, surrounded by his family. Pat was born in Hudson New York on March 17, 1943 to Ralph and Thirza Goodell. As a boy Pat’s family moved to 80 Doris Street in Manchester, New Hampshire- a place he remembered fondly over the years. On January 14, 1964, Pat signed up for the United States Marine Corps, and spent his 21st birthday in boot camp at the Marine Air Base in Cherry Point, NC. Pat served one tour of duty in Danang, Vietnam with the VMCJ-1 Squadron. Pat served his country for 4 years as a Marine. After Vietnam, Pat worked for Anaren Microwave for 24 years as a Software Engineer. Pat was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and this is where he met his wife Patricia and her two young children. In 2000, Pat married Patricia and they spent 17 wonderful years together before his passing. Pat enjoyed canoeing, camping, hiking in the White Mountains, learning and teaching history and tinkering with anything mechanical. Those who knew Pat discovered his intelligence, good heart and genuine sense of humor. Pat was preceded in death by his Father and Mother Ralph and Thirza Goodell and his brother James Goodell. Pat leaves behind his wife Patricia, his daughter Eileen Goodell, his two step children Christopher Keller and Kathleen Rodriguez (Anthony) and many other close friends and family. A memorial service was held Monday, June 12, 2017 at 1pm- Menke Funeral Home 12420 N. 103rd Ave Sun City, AZ 85351. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation-a charity that Patrick was passionate about.
