Patricia "Patty" Sweet

Patricia Ann Sweet born June 09, 1934, also known as Patty, passed away peacefully February 27th, 2018. Remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Patty is survived by dedicated husband, James R Sweet, brothers, Jim Clark, wife Sharon in Alaska, Bob Clark in California, sons, Tom Duarte, wife Vicki, David Ortiz in California, daughters Laura Sweet, Fiancé John Gutierrez, Adrienne Graves, Becky Sweet and granddaughter Katelyn Doyle in Arizona, grandchildren Derreck Duarte, Stefanie Duarte in California. Left behind are extended family in Wisconsin, California and Oklahoma and countless friends and colleagues as close as family. Patty was an entrepreneur early in life as a beauty salon owner/operator in Southern California. She then was employed by Union Carbide, one of the last Tungsten mines in America and pursued a position as the first female purchasing agent at UCM. 14 years of dedication extended to yet another journey in her life. Patty met her loving husband, Jim Sweet who resided in Ridgecrest California. They were married in 1987. Patty also obtained her AA degree at UCLA in 1994. Her last career began at China Lake Naval Weapons Center, Ridgecrest CA. CLNWC is where Patty retired as a government contract manager. She had fulfilled her goals and won so many awards in her life. In 1999 Patty and Jim moved to Surprise, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix Metropolitan area. Patty loved life and loved people unconditionally. Her heart was always open and always had a lending ear. She prided herself on honesty, dignity and to always be a good citizen. Adored by all that knew her, she will be greatly missed. As a devoted husband to his loving wife Patty, their desire to renew their vows was fulfilled. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center Chapel. Please join us to celebrate and commemorate Patty’s life directly after services at the Menke's Sun City Room reception hall. RSVP would be encouraged to Laura Sweet 602-418-2753.
