Patricia (Pat) Ann Kraut (McMullan), 81, of Sun City, AZ, passed away on May 17, 2023, from complications of a chronic illness.
Pat was born on September 16, 1941, to Peter and Anastasia (O’Brien) McMullan in Winthrop, Massachusetts. After graduating from Winthrop High School, she went on to Salem State College where she obtained a teaching degree in Junior High Math and Science, and she taught briefly after graduating.
She met the love of her life, perhaps her soulmate, Ernest A. Kraut in the summer of 1960. They were married on October 12,1962 and they had three children, Maryann, Phillip, and Peter. She supported Ernie in both his military and later civilian career. As her children became older, she would work and teach in the various locations that his careers took them and she would also volunteer and help with activities that her children were in, like Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and bowling.
Pat and Ernie spent many years traveling, when they could, to several countries and many different states as well. She loved to tell the stories of what they did and saw and who they met along the way.
In retirement they moved to Surprise, Arizona, and then to Royal Oaks Lifecare Community in Sun City. She spent her time enjoying various activities in those communities and volunteering in both as well. She was blessed with many friends who were like family to her.
Pat was predeceased by her parents Peter and Anastasia McMullan along with Ernie’s parents (Rudie and Myrtle Kraut), his sister (Barbara Andrews), her brother-in-law Richard Lowe and two nephews, Anthony Kraut and Brian Andrews. She is survived by her husband Ernie, daughter Maryann Krutsick (Joe), son Phillip (Ika), son Peter (Lesli) and sister Eileen Lowe.
