Okla Bee Banks was born January 28, 1936 to Ruby and Arthur Jackson in Mason Tennessee.. She had one sister, Precious. Okla moved to Los Angeles, California, where she met and married. Herschell Banks. She reared four children, Keith, Herschell, Merry, and Vernon. Okla was educated in Tennessee and California. She was a licensed Nurses Assistant and Bookkeeper. Okla was a loving mother, wife and homemaker. She loved to bargain shop and read. Okla B. Banks passed away on January 17, 2009. Her mother Mary Lynn Menefee, husband Herschell Banks and son Vernon preceded her in death. To cherish her loving memory, she is survived by her father Ervin Menefee, sister Precious, uncle B. V. and wife Mildred Burchett, son Keith and wife Sheri Jackson, son Herschell and wife Lois Banks, and daughter Merry Banks and husband to be Perry Garrett, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Through marriage by her children, her family has been extended with seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Okla also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear family friends.
