Nancy Lakin

of Glendale, Arizona, passed away July 27 in Sun City, Arizona. She was born April 17, 1951 in Muskegon, Michigan and moved to the Valley of the Sun in 1967. She was a graduate of Alhambra High School and an employee of the Arizona Republic for twenty five years. Nancy is survived by her three beloved children – Melissa (Tyler) Mark of Flagstaff, AZ, Rodney (Sarah) Lakin of Glendale, AZ, Elizabeth (Adam) Lakin of Glendale, AZ, and one grandson, Nolan Mark of Flagstaff, AZ. Additional survivors include brother Thomas C. (Lisa) Dickson of Glendale, AZ , sister Janet Hawthorne of Phoenix, AZ and brother Steven Dickson of Seal Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas A. and Helen M. Dickson. Nancy will long be remembered by her children as a wonderful mother and by many others as a faithful, caring friend. She was a beautiful and gracious woman, easy to smile and easy to laugh. Nancy lived for the many hours spent with her children and family. Her generous nature and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know her. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, August 4th, 2-4pm, at 6759 W. Crest Lane.
