Mildred Collar

Mildred L Collar, aka "Millie" in the west and "LaVerne" in the Eastern U.S. peacefully passed away on Monday, September 14. 2009 at 1:50AM at the age of 81. She was born on June 10, 1928 to the proud parents Jesse and Mildred Hanson and later became big sister to Charles "Chick" and was raised in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mildred married Stephen John +08/08/07 on May 28, 1948 and remained in the Philadelphia area raising her two loving children, Stephen John and John Paul. In 1994 she boldly moved west, to Phoenix Arizona. Unfortunately, she was challenged with serious health issues but bravely faced them with her positive attitude and the support of her loved ones. Mildred spent her final years in a group home where she developed close bonds with both caregivers and residents alike. Mildred will be deeply missed by all who knew her and thanks all of you for your kind thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her memory to the Arizona Kidney Foundation, 4203 E. Indian School Rd., Ste. 140, Phoenix, Arizona 85018.
