Michael S Walker

On July 28 2024, we sadly had to say goodbye to Michael Samuel Walker "Sam". He was 75 years old. He was born on October 17 1949 in Danville Virginia. to Eula Doss Walker. He had a total of 12 brothers and sisters. At the age of 16 he joined the Army. During the Vietnam War he served his time as a Paratrooper. In 1971 he met and married Wilma Mcloed, he took and raised her 2 daughters Patience Parks "West" and Phylliss Parks "Bruce " as his own. 

He held multiple jobs throughout his life. He was a crane operator in Missouri , he worked the fields in Bakersfield California, He moved his family to South Lake Tahoe where he drove a taxi in Reno. The family also moved as he worked in the coal mines outside Humor. The family also moved to Virginia for a short time before the family finally settled in Glendale Arizona in 1974. 

Sam excelled in the auto sales business. He worked at multiple used car lots , B & J Motors, Mac's Auto Sales , Quality Auto Sales, and Avondale Auto Sales just to name a few. Sam and Wilma divorces in 1994. Shortly after, he met his current partner Karen Tharp. They spent their time enjoying his daughters and Karen's 2 sons, Robert and Joe Kosmal. Between the children, they were blessed with 11 grand children and 4 great grandchildren. Together he and Karen discovered a love for cruise ships. They traveled all over the world together. Making special memories and enjoying every minute of it. He will be greatly missed by his family all who knew him and loved him.

We will be having a celebration of Sam's life on August 17, 2024. @ 11:00 am the service is being held at: Menke Funeral And Cremation Center 12420 North 103rd Avenue Sun City, AZ 85351.

Followed by a graveside Military Honors Service at: Hansen Desert Hills Memorial Park 6500 East Bell Road Scottsdale, AZ  85254
