Melodee "Jonell" McCord
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved wife, mother, nana, aunt, sister and friend.
Following a hard battle with lung cancer Melodee "Jonell" McCord passed away comfortably at her home in Goodyear, AZ surrounded by her family and loved ones on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 3:12pm at the age of 60 years old.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 18 years Toby J McCord; daughter and family Misti and Arturo Cabrales; grandchildren Thalia, Catalina, Camila and Milo; Stepchildren Angela Arnts, Elizabeth Lillenurms, Justin McCord and Alyssa McCord. She will also be missed by many other relatives and many lifelong friends that became more like family throughout her years of knowing them.
She was predeceased by her father Irvin Hoopes; loving mother Joyce Beecher and brothers Derek Hoopes and Kevin Miller.
Melodee; known as "Jonell" was born on June 21, 1960 in Phoenix, AZ where she lived most of her life. She spent 9 years (2006-2015) in Sedalia, Missouri supporting her husband Toby McCord with his military services for our country and was proud to do so. Returning to her hometown in Arizona in 2015 she spent her final years caring for her mother in her last moments of life and spending quality time with her friends, family and grandchildren. She is remembered by so many for her amazing spirit, listening ear, humor and contagious smile which will forever be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 18, 2020
