Matilda Loraine Bowman, 88, of Sun City, AZ died January 5, 2012 at Royal Oaks Care Center following a lengthy illness. Loraine was born Sept. 12, 1923 in Baxter, Tennessee to the late Chester & Josie Clemons (Ramsey). She married her sweetheart Bethel Bowman in 1941. They moved to Arizona in 1964. They became key members in the start up of West Olive Church of Christ. Loraine retired from Wells Fargo Bank in 1988. She had the longest tenure of any Sun City banker. She started as a teller and worked her way up to one of the first women bank managers and vice presidents. She served her community as a member of the Sun City Rotary Club becoming one of the first women members. She was active in the Soroptimist club and a board member of Sun Health. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bethel, 3 brothers and 1 Sister. She is survived by son Errol (Deloris), grandson Charles. The family would like to thank the staff of Royal Oaks Care Center for their many years of loving care. The viewing will be held 9:00-11:00 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Interment will immediately follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery, where she will be laid to Rest alongside her loving Husband Bethel Bowman.
