On February 20, 2018 at the age of 94, Mary-Gabriel Murphy of Sun City, AZ relocated to heaven to be with God. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 13, 1924 to Mark and Kathryn Dohan. She was preceded in death by her parents, and loving husband Philip Sr. She is survived by her children Kathryn Keller (William), Philip Jr., and Tim (Kristy), and by grandchildren Philip III (Anita), Morgan (Nicole), Megan, and Kelly. For the first part of her life Mary-Gaye lived in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from High School, she and her parents moved to Margate, NJ. While living in Margate she met the love of her life and they were married in November 1951. In 1958 she and her husband purchased their first home and moved to Cherry Hill, NJ. In 1972 she moved to Phoenix where she obtained a college degree and worked for the federal government for many years. After her retirement she moved to Sun City where she resided until her death. As a young woman she loved going to the beach. The joy of going to the beach never left her and whenever someone was going to the beach she always asked them to put their big toe in the ocean for her. Mary-Gaye was famous for sending out greeting cards to family and friends. She was the family historian and the keeper of many family heirlooms and mementos. She travelled many times to San Francisco, Portland, and Spokane to see her children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please donate to one of your favorite charities and send birthday and Christmas cards to your family and friends. Also, the next time you are at the beach stick your big toe in the water for Mary-Gaye. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. with Rosary at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, Mar. 11, 2018 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Mar. 12, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W. Palmeras Dr., Sun City, AZ.
