Mary Maxine Ross, a beacon of light and an embodiment of selfless service, departed this earthly realm on March 30, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona. Born on June 16, 1928, in the quaint town of Lancaster, Missouri, she transcended her humble beginnings to lead a life dedicated to the betterment of her community and the service of her country.

Mrs. Ross enjoyed a distinguished career within federal service, gracing esteemed positions at the Pentagon, on overseas assignments in Asia, and at Luke Air Force Base, where her exemplary work ethic shone brightly. Her unwavering commitment to excellence was matched only by her heartfelt dedication to others, as exemplified during her volunteer tenure with Habitat for Humanity from 1997 to 2001. In this capacity, she played a pivotal role as an executive board member, leading initiatives to build decent and affordable housing for those in need, including the Faith Park and Trinity Park subdivisions in Jonesboro and Stockbridge, Georgia.

Mary's spirit of volunteerism did not wane over the years. From 2006 until her passing, she served ardently at the Westbrook Village Posse Office in Peoria, Arizona, where her contribution ensured the safety and well-being of countless residents. Her role as a dedicated member of the posse, along with her passion for training new recruits, solidified her legacy as a stalwart advocate for her community's welfare.

An individual of remarkable intellect and diligence, Mary completed numerous courses in computer science throughout her career, effectively employing her skills in computer programming during her time in federal service. However, her genuine essence lay beyond her professional accomplishments; she was known for her organizational prowess, her attentive listening, and her good-hearted nature.

Mary Maxine Ross was not only a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but also a cherished friend whose impact extended far beyond her immediate circle. Her incomparable volunteer spirit resonated deeply with all who had the privilege of knowing her, as she radiated warmth, compassion, and an enduring joy that touched the hearts of many.

She embraced life with a faithful spirit and a love profound for her country, revering the American flag and embodying the essence of the American ethos. As we reflect upon her extraordinary life, we remember her as a hardworking and exemplary individual, whose legacy of kindness and loyalty remains embedded in the fabric of those she held dear.
