Mary Reeves

Mary Frances Reeves Beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2011 at Good Shepherd Retirement Home, where she was treated with dignity, respect and loving kindness since 2008. Born June 28, 1919 in Minco, Oklahoma, she was 92 years old. Mary Frances Gunkle and Francis Sherman Reeves were married on August 10, 1936. A long time Phoenix resident, Mary and Francis “Pappy” and son Bill owned and operated REEVES AUTO WRECKING for many years. When she and Pappy retired, they spent time between their home in Wilhoit, Arizona and traveling to Oregon. After Pappy passed away, Mary moved to Apollo Village in Peoria, Arizona. Mary loved playing Black Jack, Bingo, trips to the Casino and her favorite Mexican restaurant “Raul & Theresa’s”. She took great pride in her family and loved their visits and times spent together. Mary was predeceased by her husband Francis “Pappy” on August 23, 1994 and her son Bill on February 23, 2007. She was dearly loved and will be forever missed by her daughter, Wanda (Norman) Elkins, daughter in law, Susan Reeves, twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and her many friends. The family is thankful they had her in their lives for so many years. They are at peace knowing she will be reunited with her loving husband and son. Visitation will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2011 at MENKE FUNERAL HOME, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m., at GOOD SHEPHERD RETIREMENT CENTER CHAPEL, 10323 W. Olive Ave., Peoria, AZ.
