Mary T. Donahue Martin passed away April 21, 2008. She was the daughter of Marie Kelley and Raymond Donahue. She was raised on a farm in Huntley IL with one sister and nine brothers. There are three surviving brothers. She became a registered nurse at St. Anthony's Hospital in Chicago and then joined the Holy Cross order at Notre Dame IN. Shortly after her father passed away she returned to Elgin IL to take care of her mother. She married an old boy friend, Charles Martin, and they have five children. Bill in Florida, Sally in Utah, Nancy and Peggy in Colorado, and Jim in Illinois. They also have two grandchildren Casey and Garrett. Charles and Mary had been married for 56 years. She held a RN license in four states. She worked in many hospitals including Cook County in Chicago. She loved skiing with her children and flying in the family airplane. Flying and camping under the wing was her favorite mode of transportation. She bought a horse for city bred husband and children. She operated a fishing resort in northern Wisconsin. Her life was devoted to helping people. Mass at St. Clements in Sun City, Arizona on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's research. Menke Funeral & Cremation Center handled arrangements.
