Mary Kathryn Horn passed away June 21, 2014. She had been residing at Royal Oaks, a life care community in Sun City, Arizona. Mary was born July 3, 1923 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Herbert and Rose Horn. She attended Catholic and public schools there and graduated from Johnstown Central High in 1941. She had been trained as a stenographer and typist and started a long U.S. Government career in Washington, D.C. Mary worked for the Office of Scientific Research Development which was part of the Manhattan Project. In later years, she worked for the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park, California. She retired in 1978 and moved to Sun City where she resided until her death. Mary enjoyed travel to Europe, Canada and Hawaii and visiting relatives and friends in Pennsylvania and Washington. Mary will be interred next to her mother, Rose Horn in Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, Arizona.
