Marjorie Ruth Kirsop, 90, of Youngtown, AZ passed away on September 11th, 2017. Marjorie was born in Texas on July 13th, 1927. She began a nursing program during WW2 where she met her husband, William “Bill” Kirsop, who was in the military as a B-17 pilot. After they met they moved to Cleveland Ohio where they had two children together, Keith and Gale. They moved to Phoenix 65 years ago and lived there ever since in various locations. They retired to Youngtown, AZ and were both active in the community. She is predeceased by her husband, Bill Kirsop; her parents, Phillip “PR” and Goldie Higgins; and her son, Keith Kirsop. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Gale Cotten of San Tan Valley, AZ; sister, Cleo Shurts, of Poway, CA; granddaughter, Lori Kirsop, of Youngtown, AZ; 5 grandsons, Chris Kirsop, of Flagstaff, AZ, Timothy Cotten, of Warrenton VA, Bill Cotten, of San Tan Valley, AZ, Thomas Cotten of Mesa, AZ; 6 great grandchildren, Kaehla Kirsop, Henry Cotten, Jace Cotten, Andrew Cotten, Lydia Cotten, Ernesto Cotten; and many other friends and family. She was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed. Her services will take place at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 15005 N. Dysart Rd, El Mirage, AZ 85335, after the viewing from 9 AM to 10 AM, Friday, Sept. 22, 2017. Following the services at the church there will be a graveside service at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary and Cemetery located at 2300 West Van Buren St, Phoenix, AZ 85009. There will be a luncheon at the LDS Ward in El Mirage. Family and friends are welcome.
