Marilyn Olney

Marilyn Olney (née Patterson), 93, passed away Sept. 2024 in Sun City AZ. Lived in Deerfield IL for more than 50 years with her late husband “Ted,” and Sun City later in life. Preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kathryn, and twin sister Joanne. Survived by her son, daughter-in-law, and 5 grandchildren. Graduate of Michigan State University (a loyal Alpha Phi alum) and a Virginia internship in dietetics. Dedicated career as a Registered Dietician, ultimately retiring from Winchester House (Lake County’s former rehabilitation/nursing facility in IL). Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Proud owner of her family’s sesquicentennial farm in Michigan. Devoted to her family, her churches’ choirs, the former Sun Macs Computer Club in AZ, and recreational swimming with friends everywhere she lived. Memorial service scheduled for 11 AM on October 4 at First Presbyterian Church of Sun City, 12225 N. 103rd Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church.
