Margaret Ridley

Margaret unexpectedly but peacefully passed away on 3/31/2012 having recently celebrated her 100th birthday with many friends and relatives at the Wooddale Village assisted living facility in Sun City, AZ. She was born on 3/2/1912 in Calumet, MI, the daughter of Ferdinand and Margaret Stiglich, and was a resident of Sun City West, AZ, for over 35 years. She was married 35 years to her late husband Rae Ridley who had two children John (Marion) Ridley and Ann (Jack) Skotcher. Margaret is survived by her brother Martin (Ruth) Stiglich and sister-in-law Lucy (Frank) Stiglich. She had five brothers George Stiglich, Frederick (Julia) Stiglich, Anton (Lorraine) Stiglich, Carl Stiglich and Frank Stiglich and one sister Ann (Lawrence) White who preceded her in death. Margaret was loved by her grand children, great grand children, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many relatives and friends. Margaret owned a beauty shop in Detroit from 1943 to 1954. From 1954 to 1974, she and her late husband Rae, owned and operated the Paul Revere Motel in Farmington, MI. After Rae’s death Margaret moved to Sun City West, AZ, and in the summer months would visit her home in L’Anse, MI. Margaret was involved in her Catholic Church, Our Lady of Lourdes. She loved sewing, bridge, and water aerobics. She was an excellent cook and would bake sweets and give them to her neighbors. She had a heart of gold and her family meant the world to her. She will be missed by many but is with the Lord now. A funeral mass will be held 10 am April 28th at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 19002 N 128th Ave, Sun City West, AZ. The funeral will be followed by a reception at the church. A second funeral mass will be held in L’Anse, MI this summer at a time to be determined.
