Margaret Eden

Margaret R. Eden, 89, of Sun City, Arizona died on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her home in the Royal Oaks Retirement Community. Margaret was born August 31, 1928 in Guttenberg, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Anna Griebel. She married Donald F. Eden August 21, 1949 in Lone Tree, Iowa. They were married 52 years. She graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1945 and from the State University of Iowa in 1949. She served as treasurer of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She taught business classes in high schools in Shoshoni, Wyoming, Brighton, Iowa and Iowa City, Iowa. She worked for the San Luis Valley HMO where she retired as Marketing Director. She was very active in the communities she lived in serving as girl scout and boy scout den leaders, Democratic Committee woman, Heart Fund and American Cancer Fund Drive Chairman, Secretary of Women's Civic Club, President of PEO, Presbyterian deacon, elder, president and honorary member of Presbyterian's Women Group, sang in church choirs, served on board of Palmbrook Country Club and president of Ladies Breakfast Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother and her husband. She is survived by her children, Patricia Lembo (James) of Alamosa, CO; Pamela Scott (Brent) of Aurora, CO; Jeffrey Eden (Bernice) of Aurora, CO; four grandchildren, Lauren Brenner (Justin) of Colorado Springs, CO, Ryan Scott of Morrison, CO; Renee Williams (Jason) of Morrison, CO and Nicholas Scott of Golden, CO; two great grandchildren Grant and Abigail Brenner; Niece Sharon Tomkins (David) of Pflugerville, TX; Nephew Paul Griebel (Linda) of Senora, CA. Other survivors include: Wendell and Betty Eden of Washington, IA, Beverly and Don Felt of Anaheim, CA; Delores Eden of Iowa City, IA; David and Lavon of Houston, TX and Betty Kirschner of Iowa City, IA. Funeral services will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church in Sun City, AZ on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 2 p.m. with burial in Lone Tree, IA Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
