Marc “Hollywood” Haarbauer, 68, of Sun City, Arizona passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on January 22, 2021. He was born in Waukegan, IL on August 7, 1952. He was the son of Frederick Haarbauer and Mary Haarbauer (Priller). The family later moved to Kenosha, WI where Marc attended Tremper High School graduating in 1970. Marc briefly moved to Colorado before returning to Wisconsin. Marc went onto a local technical college where he obtained a degree in Accounting. He worked as an accountant in the Kenosha, WI area at GRC, Brewmaster’s Pub, Tirabassi Felland & Clark and spent the remainder of his career at Todd’s Companion Plus. Marc moved to Sun City, AZ in December of 2015 where he lived out the rest of his days.
One of Marc’s biggest accomplishments was being a father. He married Joan (Dolnik) Haarbauer in 1992, the couple later split but resulted in his two daughters. He had always wanted children and considered himself lucky enough to have two. His children, Nicole and Kaley, called their dad a superhero, and even as adults, still see him that way. He was always there for them through their ups and downs and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer.
Aside from his love for his daughters and family, Marc loved the game. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Marc umpired local Kenosha softball teams for many years, played in a bowling league, played golf regularly and since moving to Sun City, Marc got back into playing softball. Marc had many close friends and was liked by everyone. He was always matching head to toe. This is how he gained his well-known nickname of “Hollywood.” He was a kind and loving person. Marc was the type of person who could light up an entire room.
Marc is survived by his two daughters, Nicole and Kaley of Kenosha, WI. His brother, Scott (Merle) Haarbauer, of Pleasant Prairie, WI. His three grandchildren: Scarlette, Thea and Bryce and his friend, Mel.
Marc was an astounding father, brother, friend, and pop pop. He will be missed by many.
“And think of him as living.
In the hearts of those he touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost,
And he was loved so much.”
A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
